Association Géocaching Québec invites you to take part in the 12th edition of its annual BBQ, an event that has become a wonderful tradition within Quebec’s geocaching community. This year, the event will be even more special, as we will also be celebrating the 20th anniversary of the AGQ.

For two decades now, the AGQ has been bringing together geocaching enthusiasts, encouraging connections between geocachers, and helping promote this activity throughout Quebec. The annual BBQ is one of those special occasions where usernames become faces, field stories are shared over a meal, and the sense of community truly comes to life.
Whether you are new to geocaching, an experienced player, a long-time member, or simply curious about discovering the activity, you are welcome to join us. AGQ events are open to everyone and are meant to be friendly, accessible, and community-oriented.
For this 12th edition, we invite you to join us on Saturday, May 23, 2026, in Candiac, at Parc de la Tortue. On the program: BBQ, geocaching discussions, trackable exchanges, reunions, discoveries, and a few surprises to mark the Association’s 20th anniversary.
This day will also be an opportunity to take concrete action for the environment. Before the BBQ, the AGQ invites you to participate in the CITO event “Let’s Clean Up Parc de la Tortue”, which will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. This activity will help clean up the site and leave the park in better condition for everyone. A group photo will be taken at 10:45 a.m. with the results of the cleanup. If possible, please bring your gloves and a few bags. The logbook will be available throughout the CITO.
In addition to helping protect the environment, your participation in the CITO will allow you to earn the CITO 2026 – Season 1 souvenir on Geocaching.com.
BBQ 12.0 and the CITO therefore make for a full and meaningful day: a moment to give back to the community and the environment, followed by a festive gathering to celebrate our shared passion and the AGQ’s 20th anniversary.

Don’t forget to log your “Will Attend” on the event pages to help us plan the day properly.
The 21st edition of the Avalanche geocaching event was a great success on February 28, bringing together more than 120 geocachers from across the province who braved the winter to discover the beautiful Lotbinière region.
Although the day started with rain, attendees took the opportunity to complete their bingo cards and finally match faces with several geocaching nicknames. It was a great moment for chatting, meeting new people and reconnecting with friends from the geocaching community.
Once the sun returned, the trails leading to the caches recently placed by cpilote and pamphile probably saw more visitors than during the rest of the season 😜. Geocachers were able to fully enjoy the terrain and the caches specially prepared for the event.
The day wrapped up with the traditional group photo followed by the door prize draw, including the 50/50 raffle and a beautiful wooden chest handcrafted by Golfeur40HX. A big thank you to our sponsors, as well as to oiseau_ca, who generously provided the Avalanche 2026 wooden tokens and souvenir pins.
A huge thank you to the event organizers cpilote, pamphile, RoseDesVents and Bouzibelle! The DJ kept the atmosphere lively throughout the day, while the canteen service and the large containers filled with coffee, tea and chicken broth helped keep everyone warm and energized at the welcome pavilion.
Finally, thanks to tipete, Marvin A and Dalia73, who managed the shop throughout the event. They distributed the Avalanche 2026 geocoins to those who had pre-ordered them and offered visitors a refreshed inventory of travel bugs, decals and geocaching containers for their upcoming caching adventures.
Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of this 21st edition of Avalanche. We hope to see many of you again at future geocaching events!

🪙 The Avalanche 2026 Geocoin
As tradition dictates, a limited-edition Avalanche 2026 geocoin will be available. Beyond being a great collectible to commemorate your participation, purchasing this geocoin plays an important role: the funds raised directly support the activities of the Association Géocaching Québec (AGQ). Your support helps organize events, promote geocaching throughout Québec, and strengthen our community year after year.
Whether you’re coming with family, friends, or on your own, join us for Avalanche and prove that geocaching never takes a winter break!

To simply share some good moments together, the Association Géocaching Québec invites you to its fourteenth holiday brunch! A gathering open to all geocachers. We’ll celebrate Christmas, put faces to familiar usernames, and warmly welcome the many new geocachers who joined the community.
We’ve reserved space for 50 people; if we end up being more than 100, the venue will still be able to accommodate us!
Make your “Will Attend” quickly on the event page (GCBEXA2), preferably before December 7!
Don’t arrive too late—you won’t want to miss the door prizes offered to participants! The always-popular 50/50 draw will also be making its big return. And for those who would like to take part in the optional gift exchange, simply bring a small present worth about $10, slipped into a plain brown “anonymous” bag. A great way to add a little extra magic to this friendly get-together!
