According to the current bylaws and regulations, there are two types of members in the Geocaching Québec Association:

Voting Member
a) Regular Member
Any adult practicing geocaching in the province of Québec can become a regular member.

b) Honorary Member
An honorary member is a lifetime member of the association, with no need for annual renewal.

(excerpt from bylaws and regulations – September 25, 2023 – art. 4.01)

This means that any geocacher over 18 years of age can become a regular member of the Association.

Non-Voting Member
a) Affiliate Member
Any other person wishing to contribute to the goals of the Association can become an affiliate member.

b) Associate Member
Any organization whose objectives are similar to those of the Association may be represented by an associate member.

(excerpt from bylaws and regulations – September 25, 2023 – art. 4.02)

For each of these member types, membership in the Association is individual. Even if geocachers often team up under a single username, any individual from the team can be a member of the Association—or even all members of the team.

There are no fees required to join the Association. The Association covers its operating costs through the sale of geocoins, 50/50 raffles, and activity revenues.

How to Register as a Member?

After registering and logging into the website, you will have the opportunity to express your interest in the Association by clicking on the "My Membership" link. A few questions, as required by the bylaws and regulations, will be asked. The system will then determine, based on the provided information, the type of membership you are eligible for.

IMPORTANT: Registering to use the website or its forum does not make you a member of the Association. You must explicitly identify yourself as a member to obtain membership.

Happy Geocaching!
