There have been successful installs on vista. (I don't have Vista, so I can't comment beyond what people have told me).
What exactly is happening? Is the install failing?
I've been told that you need to be logged in with an administrator account in order to install it (this is possibly due to a couple of registry additions it has to make).

They do load, but streets are not shown.ibycus a écrit :Dunno. I don't have a Colorado to test them with.
I'm guessing they won't have the fancy 3d mapping stuff available,
but should probably load.
They are white on a white background.
Only when they go though park do you
see white lines on a green background.
It is possible that this might be 'fixable'. I'll have to check in to how TYP files work (they allow control of how the map is displayed, but they aren't interpreted by my GPS (60CS))blackjack65 a écrit :They do load, but streets are not shown.ibycus a écrit :Dunno.

I'm going to try this for the next version. I've figured out how to get it there, but the compilation of the requisite files is likely going to take 8+ hours to run.Buscuit a écrit :Salut Ibycus

For those of you that haven't seen on the groundspeak forums, there is a new version of the mapset out (well not quite 'out' as I don't have a link off the site for it...I'm waiting to get the updater working for fresh installs).
Not too many updates in Quebec (although there are a few). Main advantage is probably the updated base map.
If you have an existing version of the mapset, you can download the updater from http://www.ibycus.com/ibycustopo/download/MapUpdate.exe
Click on the "Check for Updates" button, and sit back and relax.

Hi,
Are you using MapUpdate to install? Or the exe installer? If you're using MapUpdate, I've seen a few antivirus programs mistag this as a virus. Its due to its internet connectivity. They figure anything they don't know about that tries to connect to the internet must be suspect. What antivirus are you using?
I've had many, many, many people successfully download and install the maps, and only a few who have had trouble. In the cases where I've been able to work out what the problem is, its turned out to be an overactive antivirus/firewall program. I'm planning to have an 'iso' release of the next revision to get around these problems, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.
What problem are you having with the indicated images? Unable to access? Corrupted?
Another possibility is I've had reports that MapUpdate can sit and appear to be hung for long periods of time as it downloads each file. If this is the problem, just wait and be patient.
How many files does MapUpdate report as needing updating?
As an aside, I've just released a new version, http://www.ibycus.com/ibycustopo/download/MapUpdate.exe

Re: Ibycus Topo 2.0: carte Topo du Canada pour zéro $$$
Hi there,
I use the exe installer not the mapUpdate
For the virus system it's a videotron services / browser firefox 2. .... and i try with explorer 7 too (in case)
...actually i scan the files after it was all downloaded just to see if everything was ok.
Maybe it can help you don't thick taht's the problem but that's my configuration:
- Macbook pro (intel)
- Parrallels Desktop 3.0 version 5584.0
or i can satrt directly with bootcamp 2.0
- Windows XP Pro
you gonna tell me that i can donwload the mac version, but all my stuff for geocaching is on this Windows XP (mapsource, GSAK)
I try it and it's seem to be - i think all the quebec is there... so i will live with that.
For your answer about many files does MapUpdate report as needing updating: none because i use your exe installer, and the problem was unable to access (error 2) as i remember.

Re: Ibycus Topo 2.0: carte Topo du Canada pour zéro $$$
I'd use MapUpdate if I were you. The dataset has a lot of the 'holes' filled in relative to version 1.22. It also downloads the IMG files one at a time, so if something happens part way through, you can resume where you left off.Digitaline a écrit :Hi there,
